Representative Scenario
At 9:14 a.m., a barista smiled while handing the subject his iced latte. By 11:40 a.m., the subject had imagined their apartment layout, her opinion of his friends, and whether she would be supportive during his eventual career pivot.

FIG. 01 · REPRESENTATIVE DOCUMENTATION · INSTITUTE FOR APPLIED DIGNITY

The Institute has reviewed the beverage handoff. The interaction lasted under 40 seconds. The imagined relationship continued for several business hours.

I. The Stimulus

The barista smiled, said the subject's name, and transferred one iced latte across the counter.

These actions are consistent with normal food-service procedure. The name was printed on the cup. The smile was within accepted customer-facing parameters.

II. The Projection Event

The subject reported that "it felt different." Witnesses later confirmed he was not in possession of additional evidence.

Despite this, he began considering whether she would like his apartment, his music, and the version of himself he plans to become after he gets serious about the gym.

III. Re-Entry Risk

The subject is expected to return tomorrow at approximately the same time under the stated purpose of "getting coffee."

Institute analysts classify this explanation as plausible but incomplete.
IAD Field Report No. 08, 2026, Unpublished.
